Today we hope you take the time to remember the men and women whose service has allowed us to live our everyday lives. Their dedicated service is what has allowed us to spend time with family, travel with friends, and barbecue with our neighbors free of threat this weekend. Their service allows us to continue to live and speak freely every day.
Whether it is a grandparent, parent, child, or friend, today the NCGOP is taking time to remember their sacrifice and service, and also pay homage to the many who are currently serving at home and overseas.
Ronald Reagan may have said it best, "Freedom is never more than one generation away from extinction. We didn’t pass it to our children in the bloodstream. It must be fought for, protected, and handed on for them to do the same, or one day we will spend our sunset years telling our children and our children’s children what it was once like in the United States where men were free."
This weekend we celebrate the American heroism that has allowed freedom to flourish in the United States of America.
